What is an asset?
Materials supplied for the use of production output are resources. Each resource carries a representational value determined by availability and demand, and is controlled by businesses and economic institutions. Resources can also be traded commercially between entities — commoditisation. An asset is a commoditised resource with the ability to produce positive economic merit.
